indyNYC is my creative brand, where I concept, shoot, and produce content rooted in a distinct, nostalgic visual style. In just a few months, my socials have accumulated 849K+ views and 161K+ likes by creating content that celebrates the world around me.

Filming exclusively on camcorders is a big part of that identity—it brings a raw, analog feel that cuts through overly polished content and makes each piece feel more real and personal. It’s not just about the look, but about storytelling in a way that feels authentic, experimental, and visually memorable.

birds (on tape)

Shot on MiniDV with a Sony VX200 and Video8 with a Sony Handycam Vision, birds (on tape) is a supercut centered on one of my favorite subjects — birds!

Filmed across the country over nearly a year, it highlights eight bird species in their natural habitats, capturing the quiet beauty of the world around us.

The film features the song Misty by Erroll Garner, a soft, relaxed jazz piece that invites the viewer to escape. I was first introduced to the song through the film Play Misty for Me.

Ultimately, birds (on tape) is an amalgamation of my interests — from vintage camcorders, to birdwatching, to the work of Clint Eastwood.

Shot on MiniDV and with a Sony VX2000, these videos capture scenic windows into my time spent in Maine. They are, in essence, inspired by the artwork of Edward Hopper—capturing a feeling of solitude and an outside perspective. Hopper is my favorite artist and I felt inspired by the coastal subjects often found in his paintings.
